Now, you may think who am I to tell you what the world’s best songs are. Well, you are right to question me. I am your typical college Freshman girl so beware. No, I will not throw any Justin Bieber at you, but brace yourself for my opinions on what the world’s best songs are.
I’ll start off with my current favorite, “Dancing in the Moonlight” by Toploader. Now, why is this the world’s fifth best song? It begins with a peppy little tune that makes me want to dance. I believe in the power of music. I believe that music can shape your day. If I listen to sad music, I will begin to feel sad. In the same way, if I listen to happy music, I cannot help but start to feel its positive effects. The song talks about (surprise, surprise) dancing in the moonlight. If you are looking for a peppy cleaning song, check this one out.
Number four on my list of the world’s best songs is “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” which, as most of you know, is found in Disney’s The Lion King. Why this is my favorite should be fairly obvious. You can’t get much better than Timon and Pumba singing about their friend, Simba, and his days of bachelor-hood coming to an end. Flonestly, I want this sang at my wedding by my future husband’s groomsmen.
The world’s third best song is ‘We Don’t Believe What’s On TV” by TwentyOne Pilots. Now, I love this song for two particular lines: “I don’t care what’s in your hair; I just wanna know what’s on your mind/1 used to think I’m gonna die before I’m young but because of you I might think twice.” If you haven’t heard it before, give it a listen to. Those two lines get me every time I hear them because that’s all I want in somebody — is to care what’s on my mind. It’s so sweet. Yes, I guess you can call me a romantic. Guilty!
Now, onto number two. Number two would have to be “Let Fler Go” by Passenger. Now, the reason why I love this song isn’t only because of its words and his voice and how applicable it is to life and losing loved ones. I love this song because in High school, this boy who I had this massive crush on sang this song to me while we were working on building sets for a play. Now, most girls (or guys) can vouch for this: when a guy sings to you, (especially well!) you cannot help but swoon a little. So, besides the fact that it’s really about losing a loved one, it was really romantic in that situation. Ironic, yes. But romantic nonetheless.
And finally, to wrap it all up, I believe that the world’s number one best song is “Why the F*ck You Lyin'” by Nicholas Fraser. Now, for those of you have not heard this yet (which most of you social media-ers probably have), this was a song written by Fraser and uploaded to YouTube where he sings, ‘Why the f*ck you lyin’? Why you always lyin'” and not only is it hilarious but it is very much applicable to ever day life. Most days I find myself singing this to my friends when they say things I know to be false. Gotta love them relatable things. So, these are, what I believe to be, the world’s current best songs. Some of them you may have heard before and some of them you may not have. Either way, I hope you give these a listen to tonight or today or whenever you are reading this. Peace.
